Q: What types of services can I migrate to VEDOS?

You can migrate almost any website for which you can share access data directly with us . We commonly migrate websites with the WordPress content management system. We can also migrate emails and assist with domain re-registration. Services for which we cannot guarantee successful migration include websites: created in online website editors such as WIX, Webnode, etc. using an unusual content management system or their own complex solution; incompatible with the currently supported versions of PHP and SQL databases on our servers.

Is transferring emails and websites secure?

Accepted Answer

Moving a website and emails from one provider to another may seem like a challenging and risky process. No one wants to risk their website being down for a few minutes or an important email not arriving.
In reality, however, it is simple and safe, because the website and email accounts are copied first. The domain redirect determines where the website will be displayed and where emails will be sent.

The complete migration usually takes up to two business days, depending on technical and personnel capacities.
After ordering web hosting, a migration department employee will usually contact you within one business day to ask for your access data. The email will come from hosting@wedos.com or hosting@vedos.com. Once we receive the functional data, we will begin the migration and check the functionality of the website. If everything looks fine on our end, we will offer it to you for review and resolve any issues.
Throughout the migration process, services will remain available from your original provider.
Once the checks are complete, we will redirect the domain to the new website or emails, and within 1 hour, the services will be up and running with us. You can then shut down the services with your original provider.

What if I am not satisfied after the transfer?

Accepted Answer

You have 7 days to try the service with no obligation – if you are not satisfied, we will refund your money. Before you redirect your domain, you can verify for yourself that VEDOS is faster and more stable without affecting your visitors. You risk nothing by migrating. We are confident in the quality of our services and believe that you will stay with us – that's why we can afford to do this.

Question 3

How does the up to 2 years free period work when switching from a competitor?

Accepted Answer

To make it easier for you to switch from a competitor's web hosting to ours and to avoid wasting your unused prepaid period, we will add extra time to your web hosting with us, corresponding to twice the remaining period with the competitor. You can add your invoice and other information to your order in the first step.

Question 5

What happens to the data at the original provider?

Accepted Answer

The migration has no effect on the data stored with the original provider.
Until you approve the migrated website and redirect the DNS to it (manually, automatically, or with our help), the website and emails will continue to function with the original provider.

What if the migration fails?

Accepted Answer

If the migration fails for any reason, or if we are unable to get the website 100% up and running, you can withdraw from the service and migration.
We will refund your money, and the services will remain with the original provider.
